  • Changing Tape to correct tape format needed for logging

    Hello,

I am having a problem with logging some footage on FCP. I have a tape that has been shot in HDV 1080i with 25p Progressive. When I put the tape in the DV deck it bleeps at me and says ‘change to correct tape format’. I have the DV deck set for HDV 1080i (50) and i link is set on HDV. I have the logging details set as HDV 1080i50 Firewire basic, but i am still getting the message on the DV deck.

I am also trying to cature some slow motion footage that was shot in DV Anamorphic. I can get it up on the log and cature box, it plays fine, but when i click on ‘Capture now’ the video freezes and it wont capture….Any help on both issues would be great.

    Many Thanks
    Alan

Hello Alan, the HDV thing happened to me once, maybe the deck supports HDV but not the camera it was shot with. Why don’t you check with the person that rented you the camera, and ask them with what deck they have captured before? In my case I had to ask the owner of the camera to please capture the tapes for me.

    Good luck

    Monica
