  • Changing Sequence Settings and Scaling Footage Down

Posted by Michael Brodner on October 5, 2009 at 3:03 pm

I want to change my sequence settings from 1440×1080 to 1280×720 and then take my 1080i 1440×1080 clips and just scale them down. When I do this though, my footage always conforms to the size of the sequence no matter what. Why?

The reason I want to scale it down is because I want to perform smoothcam on a couple of clips which I know I will have to scale up slightly to avoid those black edges and I just want some realistate to play around with. Plus I always export my stuff at 1280×720 for vimeo anyways.

Thoughts on why this is happening or on this workflow in general?

There is a user preference I think in the editing panel which can switch on and off automatically scale to sequence. Assuming this is v6 or later.

    All the best,

Remove attributes> Basic Motion will let the clips 100% size and centered.
