Changing scratch disks
I am keen to keep the project files and capture and render files for a project together in one set of folders on a portable external drive. Is there a way to tie the scratch disk setting in Final Cut to a project? And/or easily set the scratch disk?
There seems to be the ability to set numerous scratch discs but how do you easily choose between them?
Final Cut seems to only pick up the top setting. Do you really have to laboriously check whatever the previous editor has left set. One by one remove all his settings and then add yours. Remembering of course to then set it back to the way you found it.
Can one not be set as default and if several scratch disks are set, can the specific one you want for that project be chosen from a list? Final Cut forgets an external drive soon as it finds its not there, so you need to add it each time.
If you have to do it the laborious way, can this be done with a macro?
