changing resolution of edited sequence FCP 7
Posted by Libby Austin on November 30, 2013 at 1:42 amHello,
Is there any sort of global way to take a sequence of mostly HD footage that’s been edited into a 720×480 timeline and resize it up to 1080i? That’s 1920×1080.
thanks!Libby

November 30, 2013 at 2:23 amMake a new sequence with the proper settings. Copy and paste the footage from the old sequence into the new one. Then you’ll need to remove the BASIC MOTION attributes from all the footage you pasted, as they will still be set for the SD one.

November 30, 2013 at 3:11 amThanks, Sean. I created the new timeline with new sequence settings, highlighted all the clips in the sequence, and right clicked on the highlighted footage to get to “remove attributes,” then unclicked Basic Motion. The HD clips on the timeline are still small, but the still images are full-screen, although the motion effects on the stills have gone away.
Still not quite where i want to be with this.Libby

Are you sure they are HD? Double Click on them in the timeline and check on the MOTION TAB…what does it say for SCALE?

OK, I see where you are going with this. Looks like some of the footage I thought was HD is in fact SD.
thanks!Libby
