  • Changing project settings after completion?

Posted by Dusted on September 25, 2006 at 9:00 am

Hi, I’m very new to Premiere and seems to have made quite a big blunder in my enthusiasm to get started. I have just completed a project that I’m quite happy with and spent alot of time on. The project has been created using the DV Pal profile, but I actually want the exported movie to be a resolution of somewhere in the region of 1152×864 (intended viewing being only on PC). However when I now go into the project settings I seem to be locked to the DV Pal project profile, and quite a few on the options are greyed out. Is there any way I can increase the resolution and acheive the required output I’m after? I really wouldnt want to have to start from scratch again. Any help with this would be very much apreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dusty.

You can open a new (blank) project at your desired settings. Then import your old project into it. The framing will change a bit though.

Exporting and editing sizes are two different things. Export your PAL frame to a bigger size, but remember, the pixels are not there. To get them, you have to create them in software. The quality diminishes.
