Hey everyone, (there is a question at the bottom)

I had posted a question awhile ago about changing the project association of a clip. Well I found a new solution (browsing the internet) that wasn’t offered, but though some of you might be interested.

Open the bin containing the clip that you want to modify the project association.
Right click that clip and modify it…
Go to modify source and click “new” tape
Name the new source the same name as it was originally assigned (to retain batch information)
Then click OK on the next 2 dialogue boxes.
The clip is now associated with the project you are currently in.

This can also be achieved by consolidating a clip in a different project than it was originally digitized in. Except that you aren’t creating any new media files…just changing the project association.

    QUESTION:

Now, that I have offered that…can ANYONE explain why both of these solutions work on my AVID Xpress system but not our Media Composer system?
