Changing Pixel Aspect Ratio-PAL 25FPS- from Compressor for Vimeo HDV
Hi Guys,
Sorry if this has been posted here before, but my H264 Q/T project file is having great difficulty in loading onto the Vimeo channel. Vimeo have told me my pixel aspect ratio is 1.81 and should be 1.1…. In my sequence settings in FCP the pixel aspect ratio is set at “square”,Should I change it here in the sequence, (if so to what?) or can I do this when in FCS2-Compressor, and how would I do this using the Compressor’s Inspector?
Apologies if this seems trivial, but I’m new to both FCP and Vimeo, and because of this little problem, I’m slowly losing the will to live…. Hope you can help. I’d be most grateful.

You need to tell us what codec & pixel aspect you are using in FCP, details on the sequence setting and how you are creating the H264 files.
In Compressor, what are your settings?

Hi Ed,
Forget about “Pixels aspects” and think only in terms of Pixels.
All that goes to Internet have to be Square pixels (1:1).
Think that you have normally two displays:
– 4×3
– 16×9.
If your picture is 4×3, those must be the proportions of your clip, so:
– 40×30
-160×120
-400×300…or any other value that keeps this 4×3 proportions.
For a 16×9 picture it would the same but keeping the 16×9 relation:
– 160×90
– 320×180
– 480×360..and all the values that keep that proportion.
This will work always whatever of the kind of pixels you choose. They will be displayed as square by QT, Flash Player or whatever application read it the clip.
