  • Changing opacity of a video EFFECT not the video itself

    Hey guys and girls,

Having trouble with making a video effect fade out and not the video itself. I attached some screen shots, if someone could tell me where I’ve gone wrong that would be great.

As you can see I have the starlight effect on the first clip and I want the effect to fade itself after about 2 seconds leaving the remaining video as normal.

Then this happens when I add the second keyframe and change the opacity. The whole video dissapears.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

    Much appreciated.

I can see how that’s confusing, but it’s working properly.

Here’s the technique: apply the Starlight to an Adjustment Layer, then adjust the opacity of the Adj Layer.
