  • Changing Multiple Aspect Ratio’s to one in the Timeline

    Hi there,

Wondering if someone might have a less labour intensive solution for me for the following issue.
I have just received a project on hard drive with a rough assembly edit.
The assembly edit contains clips digitized at different times, different facilities and quite obviously different settings. I have about 7 or eight different aspect ratio settings overall.
I spoke to the camera guy and everything was shot 16:9.
At the moment I am going through cut resizing each clip in the timeline one at a time.
This is working fine but is pretty time consuming.
Can anyone tell me if I can do a select all and re-size everything at once.
I’ve tried simply highlighting everything but no go.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated…
    Declan

    1) resize one clip to accurately reflect the settings you want
    2) Copy the clip
    3) in your timeline, highlight all of the other clips that you want to have the same settings
    4) one they are highlighted, right-click on one of the clips. choose “paste attributes”

    that should do it.

now, keep in mind, the settings it takes to make all of footage type “A” accurate will not necessarily be the same to make all of footage type “B” what you need. So, group all of your media so that you can do this eight times (if you have eight types of media).

for instance, the settings for MiniDV footage will apply to all of your mini DVD content. Then your settings for your HDV content will apply only to your HDV content. Etc…..
