Posted by Bill Dawson on October 9, 2012 at 3:17 pmSomething I have noticed in a few post houses recently…
When they added or updated a Avid edit bay, they switched
to a PC. Anyone else noticing this?Bill

October 9, 2012 at 3:31 pmWhen I went from a broadcast station to cable, cable was all PC. It was a new world for me. I felt almost stupid because I had only worked on MACS and now navigating a new platform. But, AVID works just fine on a PC. I still love MACS and find they have fewer issues.

October 10, 2012 at 8:05 amLook on the various Avid forums and you’ll see its the Mac versions that have the most issues.
We run both at our post house and I’d disagree that the Macs have less issues that maybe FCP as much as hardware.Pat Horridge

October 12, 2012 at 5:47 pmWe have two Avid systems bought at the same time from the same Avid dealer, one PC and the other Mac with similar specs (Nitris DX boxes). The PC system runs noticeably faster than the Mac. I’ve heard the same from editors in other facilities.
