How does one change out the footage in FCP on clips sent to Motion? I couldn’t find it in the manuals and it certainly doesn’t seem intuitive. I did try replacing it in the subclip created when the clips were sent to Motion, but that didn’t work either.

    Thanks,

The quickest way I’ve found is to render out a new clip of the shot on the FC timeline. Open the Motion project, select the new clip from the file browser within Motion and drag it over the layer control thingy on the left of the timeline. Where you see the blue filmstrip icon denoting the clip itself within the layer. Your cursor should change to a little upsweeping arrow to tell you you can drop the clip in.

Thanks for the response, and to clarify:

Instead of render, do you mean export it out from FCP. After that I then reimport it
    into Motion?

If I get what you’re saying, I did try that and couldn’t get it to work, but it might have been am issue with how I set up this particular Motion project from FCP. If this is the case, I’ll try and see what happens with both a Motion project created outside FCP, and also with a new one created using the FCP integration.
