  • Changing audio sample rates for capture

I am editing a project on FCP 5 where the first few tapes audio were recorded at 48khz, 16 bit. One tape that needs to be in the middle of the sequence was recorded at 32khz 12 bit. I have tried to change the sample rates in “sequence presets” but it is not allowed. Created a second sequence in the bin attempting to capture this tape at 32khz. When I went to preferences, “sequence presets” it still would not allow a change. I am stumped. If I do need a second sequence to capture this tape at 32khz, how do I then get that portion onto the Time Line of the first sequence in the proper place?

    Larry,

Capture it at 32 and then use QT or compressor to convert it all to 48K. Then use those as the media files that you edit with.

You can accompliush this by creating a 32K project, capturing it all in there and then using compresso to do the batching back to 48K

    I can’t believe it’s not butter!
