  • Changing Audio Gain – is it reversible ?

Posted by Karen Yarosky on August 11, 2020 at 2:26 pm

I changed the audio gain on some clips in my timeline (“normalize all peaks to” and “adjust gain by”) and now have gone back and was hoping to remove those decisions but when I go to “EDIT – Remove attributes” I do not see anywhere to revert these changes back (which is what I would do if I wanted to remove a Highpass filter for instance). Is there somewhere I can revert back to the original or have I made changes that can’t be reversed? Many Thanks!

Just select the clips in the timeline you want to change the gain on, right-click them, and select Audio Gain in the contextual menu. In the dialog that pops up, set the Gain to 0dB. This will reset the gain to its initial setting.

Many Thanks for your reply !!!!! I wonder if there is a glitch in my PP – when I open Audio Gain on a clip that I have changed it shows 0db but the clip is still altered …. please take a quick look at this screenshot and let me know if I am not understanding or PP is doing something strange ….
