  • changing aspect ratio after capture?

I must have missed something elementary on this one….

But I generally shoot in anamorphic squeeze on my Canon GL 2 (which does a good job) but I recently had to shoot a 30 sec TV commercial in standard format. I changed my camera setting off of 16:9 squeeze, but when I logged and captured my footage, I forgot to change my sequence setting to standard format…(4:3?)

“Now my imported footage is all “squeezed-up”.

“I don’t have to trash the whole file and re-capture the footage again do I?” (in the right sequence setting that is).

Thanks…. from a self taught FCP user who reads a lot…or thought.

Duplicate your sequence (ie make a safety copy)
Select All the video in the sequence
Choose Modify menu > Conform to Sequence

See if that helps shape things up
