  • Changing a Project’s timebase / Exporting and copying settings to a new project…

So I brought in a bunch of clips into a new project, and accidently left the “Timeline Conform” options at 24 instead of 30 dropframe (even though I was sure I changed it…), is there anyway for me to either:

    A) change that project’s timebase.

    or

    B) Easily export all my settings from the master timeline to a new project copying the exact same settings.

I don’t (currently anyway) have any marks based on timeline, and the few tracked shots can easily be replaced.

Right now the only thing I can think of, is to create a whole bunch of power grades, and transfer them to my new project one by one. Not as much work as redoing the whole show… but substantially less than optimal…

    ALSO:

Is there a way to create a master timeline that is sorted by filename or reel rather than TC? I thought there was but I cannot find it now, and that would make my life a lot easier…

I think that’s what the ColorTrace feature is for! 🙂 Have you used it?
Check the manual, page 165, Using ColorTraceTM to Apply Grades From One Project to Another

ColorTraceTM is a key feature of DaVinci Resolve, which lets you copy grades quickly and easily from the clips of one session to those within another, based on the source timecode of each clip, or using clip names when in Automatic mode.

It’s a really great feature, and I’m sure it will work out for you.
