I’m bringing an old project back online to do some work on it. Since the media for the project is now in a different place than it used to be the clips in the media pool are “offline.” If I select all of the clips in the media pool and use “change parent directory” and navigate to the folder that now contains all of the media, the “relink” doesn’t work. However, if I do the “relinking” in groups of twenty or so it works fine. Why this issue?
Just to be clear, I’m relinking all of the clips in the media pool to a single folder, in my opinion there’s no reason it shouldn’t work in one shot.
    Just throwing it out there.

    Hi Roman,

Do you have an reference QT movie as part of that group?

I select all the media used in the project and carefully deselect the reference movie and then the change parent directory works perfectly.

I hope this helps but let me know and i’ll look into it for you!

    Dan,
I think you’re on to something. I went through the relinking process with 5 projects yesterday and finally I started realizing that it’s not the number of selected clips at all. It seems that if your selection contains clips that previously linked to different directories, it will not relink the selected group. All of the clips selected have to have originally come from the same folder. Problem is that media is often organized in different folders by card or shoot day, etc. One thing I will do in the future is to create a different media pool folder for each media source folder to keep things separated, but I think there should be an easier way to relink.
    Thanks for your help though!
