  • Change opacity over time with a fade not flicker

Posted by Ian Ellerby on August 2, 2015 at 10:34 am

    Hi
i’m trying to change opacity of layer over time, going from 100% to 50% in a 1 second fade, hold for 10 seconds at 50% opacity, then return to 100% over 1 second, hold at 100% for 10 seconds, and repeat and repeat etc

I can see lots of expressions with a flicker type approach, can’t find on posts an opacity expression with a fade.

    Thanks if anyone can help.

You could do this with a LoopOut Expression. Create the 1 second fade to 50, 10 second hold, then fade back to 100 and a 10 second hold. Then add the following expression to opacity:

    loopOut("cycle")

    Here’s an example project: 9107_loopout.aep.zip
