September 7, 2008 at 5:10 pmChange the settings on one clip. Copy that clip with a right-click and “copy.” Now highlight all the clips you wish to change, right-click on those and use copy attributes — basic motion.
Also Carl, there is a searchable help feature in FCP and a a search here on the Cow as well. Please get used to giving them a try before posting your questions.

September 7, 2008 at 6:39 pmIf you ever have to change a parameter that won’t go with “paste attributes” (such as a sub-category) you can export XML, find that parameter in the XML file, and global change it there. Then re-import the XML, and you’ll have the change on all those clips.

September 7, 2008 at 7:39 pmJust a note about your first reply – the command is “paste attributes” – then you do the check box for basic motion. This is one of my very favorite FCP commands!

September 7, 2008 at 8:22 pmgreat tips guys thanks. both the paste attributes and the xml import methods are invaluable. I now have a flattened 1080i50 movie that looks something like the quality I remember seeing when shooting.

May 24, 2013 at 10:06 pmI appreciate the help on the Cow, but the FCP Searchable help is so screwy in that you may be searching for a concept, but the term Apple wants you to use is unknown, or more likely, convoluted. This is why the Cow is such a great resource.
