Change gray background, larger numbers?
Hello again, and Happy New Year!
Q1. Need help with Vegas 11, I’m getting older and using a 15.5″ laptop, cannot see well, need a lighter gray (or other) basic background in Vegas 11, especially to see better the black tick markings and numbers directly above the timeline. Changing the screen resolution (currently set at 1366×768) is not satisfactory.
Is there a way to modify the color/brightness of the Vegas overall background, or at least make much larger the lettering and tick-marks that are used for and directly above the timeline?

Your best option is to go to Options | Preferences | Display and uncheck Use Vegas color scheme. That will cause Vegas Pro to use the Windows color scheme like the rest of your windows programs.

It removes an unused media from the project media pool. This cleans up any media that you may have deleted from the timeline but is still listed in the Project Media tab.

I believe it’s a hold-over from the days of editing DV and outputting a preview via firewire. If unchecked, it would not try and process any frames that were edited so as not to slow down the direct transfer of video to the preview device. I don’t think it does anything for HD.

Many thanks, John, for your quick and informative reply! There was much improvement in the visual aspect of Vegas, using Windows settings in a small (15.5″) screen.
….but it seems to me, that Sony/Vegas should add a feature which allows a certain adjustment to their background and lettering. Perhaps you can pass it on…?John23GR
