I have a video that I want to use the same effect, however change it in different parts of the video. The problem with keyframes, is it changes the effect over time, between the start and end keyframe. I need the FX to be in full effect from the start of a keyframe to the end, and then immediately change to a new setting in the next keyframe until it reaches the end of the next one. Is there a way to do this? Is there some visual tutorial on this?

    Thanks.

If you right-click a keyframe and change it’s type to “hold”, it will NOT change at all until the next keyframe is reached.

Thanks for the reply. not sure by the name “Hold” if it will do what I’m looking. Say I have the start keyframe and then the next one 20 minutes into the video. Then the next one 40 minutes into the video. Now I have a filter that removes red from the picture by a certain percent. For the first keyframe group I set the red removal to 100%. I expect until it hits the next keyframe to remove 100% of the red. Not build up to it between keyframes. Then I want between 20 minutes and 40 minutes to set the plugin to 50% red removal. I want it to remove it immediately and not build to 50% removal. Is this what “Hold” would do?

    Thanks.

Yes. That’s exactly what “Hold” does. It immediately sets it to the value specified, HOLDS at that setting until the next keyframe is reached, and then immediately changes to the value of that next keyframe.
