Change frame size in Final Cut Express
I have footage that is 320 x 240 that I want to edit in FCE but the only option the program gives is to edit in a 720 x 480 canvas. When I render the video, a thick black border appears around the video. I’ve gone to Easy Setup and there is no 320 x 240 setup and the custom setup is not customizable (at least I haven’t figured out how to customize it). I’m so frustrated. If anyone could help, I’d be so greatful.

FCE will only work with DV. You will need to convert your file first to scale it up – Quicktime Pro perhaps, depending on your file’s codec? Or maybe mpeg Streamclip. Be aware that you will suffer some quality loss.
