Change Font on Timecode Reader?
Posted by Harley Michailuck on August 17, 2005 at 7:35 pmHow do you change the font on the Timecode Reader/Generator Video Filters in FCP 5?
Looked everywhere in the manuals…
Thanks in advance!

absolutely not, since you can change the size and the color and the position. And it’s even realtime. You don’t even get this with Avid Xpress pro…
I guess you want to use it in an artistic manner, but it was designed for a technical use where font doesn’t matter. I think both AE and combustion have a TCR with a selectable font. Or there must be a third party plugin to do it in FCP…

Not at all… something less obtrusive like plain ol’ Helvetica or Arial. Why should it be a vertically compressed Futura Bold Italic… or whatever it is?

August 18, 2005 at 2:54 amI personaly find it easy to read. There are other things in FCP that are much, much more “obstrusive”…
if you insist on finding a way to change the font, maybe you could open the timecode reader FXScript to see if you can change the font in the code. But for me it’s time to open a beer and relax 😉
