    hello Pros!!!
    im an editor for many years and an AE beginner and will be happy for some HELP
    this text is a 2d vector from ai. I converted it into shape and using 3d(CINEMA 4D),ive added 1 camera and 1 light(point) and im trying to change the extrusion color from black to grey. anyone?

    You can override the Front, Bevel, Side and Back material options for a 3D shape layer in the CINEMA 4D renderer by twirling the layer open, clicking the Add button on the Contents group in the timeline panel, and navigating the flyout menu that appears.

    However, by default, your entire extruded shape will pick up the the fill color. You are probably seeing the sides as black because they are not lit. You need to add lights to the scene that actually hit those pieces of geometry for them to appear as gray.

    thanks for responding!!!
    i’ve added all the contents into new group and changed the side color to all of it together.
    the thing is that i had to cancel the “accept shadow” of the layer.
