  change disk cache path without the browse button?

  Hi all,
  Not sure what’s going on with my pc, but when i try to change the default path for the Cache drive in AE, it doesn’t have any drives to choose other than DESKTOP ICON.
  So I tried to type in a new path in the PREF TXT file, but as soon as AE starts up, it reWrites it back to default.
  Does anyone know of a way (other pref files) to change the path without useing the Browse button??
