  • change default transition length??

Posted by Brian Pitt on March 3, 2010 at 7:04 pm

I know that I know how to do this, but can’t remember. I am working on a project where I need to add an 8 frame dissolve quite often. I prefer using the shortcut (apple +T) but this is creating a 30 frame dissolve. I went into my effects bin and changed the length of the cross dissolve to 8 frames, but this only works if I drag the effect from the bin onto my clip. If I use the shortcut, it still defaults at 30 frames. I know I learned this years ago, but can’t find where to change the default transition length. Any help?

Create the transition, then save it in your favorites folder. Right click on it to select it to be the default transition… can be of any length and can be any of the transitions too.

I know this post is nearly 2 years old but I’m having issues with this.
I want a 5 frame cross dissolve as my default transition.

I draged and dropped Cross disolve with the length of 5 frames to my favorites folder and then made the copy my default but it still is 24 frames default.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks you sir,
