Change color without seeing the whole color spectrum

You can use Hue/Saturation to rotate the hue from red to green instead. This will preserve luminosity (intrinsic brightness), but must still pass through yellow on its way to green (or magenta and blue if you go the other way).

couldn’t he try a different blending mode with keyframed opacity solids? linear color management doesn’t go brown mushy from what I can remember.

Use hold keyframes. Doesn’t that work with color?
