    Premiere CC 2014

Is there a way to change the display name of a clip in the timeline?

I am trying to make notes within the timeline, and I would like to use a transparent video clip. I know that I can simply duplicate the clip and rename it in the Project Panel, then bring it back into the Timeline, but I’d like a quicker way.

Also, I know that markers can be used as notes, but would prefer the notes to be easily moved along with the video clips.

I thought there was a way to change the display name of a clip in the timeline.

    Am I wrong?

I think you can right click on the clip and then click “rename”

^ Yep, that’s worked! thanks! I recommend adding a keyboard shortcut to it (I used control-R on my mac).
