    Dear all,
I have used the CGM aged film to edit a short movie (about 2 min).

When I have seen the final DVD, I was surprised to see a very bad images on my TV. Specially on horizontal camera movement the images are not fluid but flickering. I have tested with other four DVD player (DENON, LG, TOSHIBA and PIONER) and the problem remains the same.

On my FCP the movie is good, On my m2v file also the images are good but after producin with DVD STudio pro the TS Directory the imges are bad.

I have used the best quality 90 minutes.

    SOme one has some suggestion?

Sounds like interlacing field order is wrong, which you probably won’t notice until you watch it on a TV from a DVD player.

Why do you think it is from the filters? What filters did you use and more importantly what field dominance settings were the footage, the sequence and the DVD settings.

It seems to be a problem of DVD studio Pro because all the files before producing the DVD file are good (preview of fcp, m2v).

I have used the filter CGM Aged film.

The sequence settings are the foolowing:
    Frame size 720 x 756 CCIR 601/DV PAL (5:4)
    Aspect Ratio: PAL – CCIR 604 (720×576)
    Filed Dominance: Lower (Even)
    Editing Timebase: 25.

The Compressor settings are the standard DVD best quality 90 Min (without any changes).

DV is the only PAL codec with lower field dominance. Your field dominance settings in Compressor to make the m2v should correct this to upper and it should also be set as upper in DVD Studio pro.

The filters may also be set incorrectly. I am not aware of the settings in CGM aged film, but make sure the field dominance settings in the filter are also lower to match the sequence and codec(if they have settings for field dominance).

I don’t necessarily suspect the problem is in DVD Studio Pro unless you are monitoring every stage through a card to an interlaced monitor. Interlace errors are hard to pick up on computer screens. So check field dominance settings at all stages of the filters, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro as there is a mistake somewhere in one of those possibilities.
