hi, i’m afraid this has been asked before but i didn’t manage to find it.
    please bear with me.

my problem is that when i add a text layer, set it to be a centered paragraph and then increase its scale, the text appears to be not approaching the middle of the screen but rather a little above it.

when looking at the layer’s anchor point, i can see that, by default, it’s set to somewhere below the vertical centre of the text. why’s that?

when you click on the layer and select text > more options there’s something called “anchor point grouping”. i experimented with that but seemingly it’s not the option i’m looking for to fix this.

so basically, how do i centre a text layer’s anchor point not only horizontal- but also vertically?

This is the default setting. You can easily adjust the Anchorpoint by selecting the ‘Pan behind Tool’ (or access it pressing Y) that allows you to drag your anchorpoint to any point you want it to be.
To do this manually, there is a little hidden menu to the right of your Text-Options, a switch that says ‘animate’. Click the little arrow and select Anchorpoint from the pop up. This is going to add an Animator group holding the transformation of Anchorpoint.

    Hope I could help out.
    cheers

thanks for the reply, but using the pan behind tool and manually dragging the anchor point is a little unexact, i’d say.
i’d rather have after effects do it itself.
