    Hi,

I’m working on a lyric video for a rap track and would really need your help with an expression. I tried myself and searched around but to no avail.

I have a text layer with a single line of text with its point group alignment set to words. What I want to do is move this layer sideways in steps lasting a few frames, so that each word is centered on stage briefly. Is it possible to do this using the words anchor points? It would save me a ton of time with so many lyrics ☺

    Thanks in advance!

You could probably work something up with scripting, but I think it would be impractical with an expression.

With a script, you could add each word in sequence, measure the resulting size (with sourceRectAtTime()), and calculate the approximate center of each word. A bit of work though.

Ok, thanks for your input Dan! I guess I will have to knuckle down for some serious keyframing then 🙂
