  Center channel extractor greyed out/unavailable after use

  I was experimenting with the Center channel extractor filter and am puzzled with this one thing:

  After using the filter on a file and undoing the filter it becomes unavailable (greyed out).

  This must be something simple , but so far it is eluding me.
  When I bring in a new file, the filter is once again available.

  This seems to happen every time whether I undi the effect or not.

  Any ideas?
