February 12, 2008 at 11:28 pmThis thread is a little old now, but I wanted to throw my hat in the ring because our spankin’ new Nexis 100 arrived yesterday, and I can confirm that the print quality is bordering on laughable. I pulled in a 300dpi photo to test it out, and the result was barely better than what you might see coming out of a dot matrix printer. Horrid.
The unit is obviously a prefab that resellers buy wholesale and rebrand, as the Nexis 100 is the exact same machine as the DiscMakers offering. Avoid both.

High quality color printing too? Are you printing full four color photo images or just black and white or just text? We have full four color photo images that are part of every design for this documentary series we’re doing. Even on 4800dpi setting with a 300dpi image, the DiscMakers does not print well.
But if the thermal unit can re-create high quality, laser printer quality, I might have to look at that unit.
