I recently received an RFP where the customer requires delivery of edited videos in “full resolution MPEG CD-ROM”.

What compression technique should I use for best quality?

    Thanks.

Wow, that sounds vague. It is possible to play back MPEG-2 from a CD-R
OM disc, but I might ask exactly how they want to view the clips. The statement you quoted sounds like someone who doesn’t know compression wrote it.

Yeah, that could mean anything from VideoCD to a file on an ISO disc.

I’d likely assume MPEG-1 but you need clarification, and they probably need educating!

    It’s a London thing.

Yes, I thought it was rather vague myself. You would’ve seen the question marks appearing above my head upon reading it.

    Thanks for the help.
