I have some .dv mac files. Should I convert them to .mov (DV compression) so I can import them into Premiere (I’ll be exporting MPEG2 with CCE)? Or should I convert the .dv to MPEG2 with CCE first, import the MPEG2 files into Premiere and then export them from Premiere with CCE again? Not sure how to get the best quality CCE MPEG2 from my .dv source after editing in Premiere. Thanks

Does a .DV source not work automatically with Premiere Pro? I thought that it would, but then again it has been a while since I looked at Premiere. If Premiere doesn’t accept .dv files, then it would definitely be best to convert to .mov or .avi (keeping it in DV Codec) first rather than MPEG-2. No point in recompressing an already compressed source before editing.
