Good afternoon all. Striking out on my own to do some work from home, which means using my home tower for work. Will be shooting Magic Lantern RAW (which Canon to be determined, either a 7D or 5DMKII). Use Davinci Resolve Lite to do initial grade, create proxies, import proxies into Premiere, do all work in Premiere using built-ins and Red Giant plugins, reconnect final edit (with all filters, luts, whatever) to original DNGs, export.

Concerns: Important hardware is: Core i5 3570K OCed to 4.1Ghz on air, 8GB RAM, SSD program drive, 4TB scratch (four 2TB drives in software RAID 10), Radeon 7850 graphics cards. I have read all the white papers on balanced systems for Adobe, and it seems that this is balanced, though I am concerned about the amount of RAM. Double to 16GB, or will it make any difference since GPU rendering will be used for most work? If I had the money I would upgrade to a new platform i7 with a 970, but that won’t be happening for awhile. Anything I’m missing / not thinking of?
