CC to CC2014 upgrade, presets lost

What After Effects presets, exactly, are you referring to?

Composition settings presets? If so, then you can migrate them from one version to the next following the instructions here:

Animation presets? If so, follow the instructions that I give in the above post regarding plug-ins, but do this for your user animation presets folder.
