cc particle system is like the little brother to particle world. it has a lot of similar settings, but it is not 3d, so it won’t react to comp camera movements.
particle playground is a also a 2d particle system, but it has very different controls from the other two… it actually has 3 different producers and is the only one that has settings to have particle react to each other. it’s also a compound effect, meaning you control particles with rgb values from other layers (layer maps), which has a bit more of a learning curve to it. you can do a lot with particle playground, but it will take a while to learn how to use/control it.
the other 2 are easier to use, but particle effects all have a reasonably steep learning curve — there’s just a lot of setting there…
