  • CC Light Rays — Moving position of layer?

Posted by Jason Brown on September 26, 2006 at 8:57 pm

I’m having an issue with a layer moving on it’s own, it’s parented by a NULL which controls 2 other layers (it’s a logo I animated …so position is KEY!)

When I turn off the effect for CC Light Rays, the position issue goes away…everything works fine.

I’ve removed keyframes for every value that is keyframed, and none of them prevent the move.

The whole animation is fine, my issue is that a swoosh that I animated on by a mask moves to the left at the last 10 frames of the movement…I’m dumfounded.

    Hope I explained well enough.

P.S. Anyone know of any good (included) plug-in’s that can create light rays emminating from behind an object? I thought Light Ray’s could do it…but I’m not having luck creating that look.

Try putting the effect on a sticky adjustment layer instead of applying it to the logo layers themselves. Your problem sounds like your source point is shifting at some point due to the way you are going about this. There are no other built-in plugins that will give you this effect instantly (but it’s possible to “build” it). You need to shelve out money if you are looking for better alternatives
