CC Light Burst 2.5
Posted by Johnalynn on June 5, 2006 at 11:33 pmWhen i apply this effect to my layer, the effect is bound to a box the same size as the layer. is there a way to get the effect to spill out of this box?

June 6, 2006 at 1:44 amprobably you need to precompose your layer first…select the layer you’re applying the effect on then go up to “Layer” and choose “precompose” (way at the bottom of the selections). Precompose it and you should be able to apply the effect to the whole comp area.
usually the problem you reffer to happens to when someone trys to apply an effect to a text layer….this is the quick way of getting around this annoying problem
good luck

thanks for your response. I changed it to precompose and the problem was not resolved. http://www.johnalynnholland.com/problem.html has the picture of my issue. I don’t think i explained it very well. Thanks in advance for any further help you could offer.Jay

June 6, 2006 at 6:49 pmKen is correct, but you may have missed the point that you need to pre-comp the image- THEN add the effect. ex: add your image to a comp, precomp that comp, then add your effect to the comp/layer.
Make sure that you tried it this way, because it always corrects the problem you’re having.
Good Luck,
