This is the second non-functional effect I’ve found this week (the other one was Posterize Time in Premiere). I apply the CC Composite effect to a jpg and the opacity slider adjustment shows no changes to the image. I rendered a quick test, and the effect was not seen in the render, either. Oddly, it did ‘work’ on a solid layer with a 4-color gradient applied, but not on an avi file. This is WinXP CS4 with the latest update (9.0.1).

I tried a few other CC based effects, and they work.

Has anybody encountered effects just not working? Reinstall? Reset AE?

    Frustrated,
    Pauley

Applying CC Composite without a prior effect applied has no effect. If you for example apply a 50 pixels Fast Blur (or a 4-color gradient) before CC Composite, do you see the Opacity control having any effect?

    Hi Jens,
I am not at my ‘video’ computer now, but I’m sure you have nailed it. I was following a tutorial and didn’t realize CC Composite was dependent on another effect being applied. As I think about it, the name implies the need for something beyond the the base image, I just didn’t make that connection.

    Cheers,
    Pauley
