I read the thread from May about CC and ProRes, and I’m not really sure of the outcome.

When we add a new intro or tag – or do a minor cutdown to an old CC’ed, DigitBeta SD show we capture it 10bit uncompressed via Kona 2 slap the intro or tag on to it and output back to DigiBeta and all is good – only the new stuff is not CC’ed all the rest is fine…

Will this still work with ProRes? We still use FCP 5.clsoe.to.6.as.possible… but I am about to up grade to 6.newest and am hoping the ProRes will work…

    Thanks

    Thanks,
    Harry

    CC as in closed caption?
As long as the clips have no rendering involved, noe at all, the line 21 data will remain intact all the way to output.

[Harry Pallenberg] “Thanks – thats what I wanted to hear!”

Umm, well, I hope it’s still an accurate statement.
I’d test it very carefully before committing to a client.
