I am having one heck of a time finding anyone that can take either a
quicktime 7 file or the Sony MXF format file using the HD422 1920×1080-60i 50Mbps template and get closed captioning from it onto HDcam master tapes.

They have the .scc files as well.
I’m talking with a company that has a HDW500 deck to make the HDCam masters and they can get the video on there perfectly but no one on the planet seems to be able to take my programs and give back HDCam master tapes with CC.

    Any suggestions. I’m getting desperate.

Here is how CC was tested in Vegas Pro,
tools->export video to XDCAM disc, (via firewire),
then play the MXF file with CC on the XDCAM deck,
    output to TV.

To create master tape with CC out of Sony MXF file,
I was told you could use a HDCAM deck to
record the broadcast output from the XDCAM deck.

In Vegas Pro 10, there’ll be another way – print to tape, but needs RAID drive, AJA HD-SDI and HDCAM SR deck.

So you may need a XDCAM deck. Just for your reference.

    Karlton,

How do people without an XDCAM deck deliver CC to post houses to print to HDCAM?

    Here is the problem:

TV stations are requesting submissions on HDCAM tape. Independent film makers are shooting HDV and AVCHD and editing in Vegas Pro. They need to submit something on a hard drive to a post house to make the HDCAM tape for them. How do they do it?

As mentioned, Vegas Pro 10 provides a way to “print to tape” with CC for HD. It works with a RAID drive, AJA HD-SDI card, and HDCAM-SR deck.
