    cbr or vbr (2-step)?

What would you prefere to use when rendering to mpeg-2 (for dvd-making) if disc-space is not an issue.

    What values would you use?

    I have a 10 min movie and right now I’m thinking about using cbr 8 000 000.

If you want to and can get away with pushing a high data rate CBR is OK. VBR is much more efficient at lower avg data rates because it’ll provide the bits where/when needed.

I’d be a bit concerned about 8Mbps though. Maybe I’m a bit conservative but I get a bit nervous about rates/peaks going over 7Mbps. It very much depends on what the DVD players can handle and in my experience there are some old and cr*py players out there.
