  • Caution when stacking VideoCopilot’s Saber on a single layer >> CORRPUTED AEP

I must start saying that Saber is a excellent and free plugin from the great website VideoCopilot.

But I must also warn everyone not to stack several instances of this pugin on one single layer. I did this (24 instances) and my aep file got corrupted.

So if you need several ocurrences of saber, be sure to use one (or few) per layer.

    Best regards.

24 instances! Well, yes, I can sort of imagine VideoCopilot didn’t QA for that. All on one layer suggests to me that you might not be using Saber the way it was intended.

I am sorry for you that it corrupted your project, there’s almost nothing more disheartening than that. I’ve become a bit of an evangelicalist for cloud backups. I use Google Drive to backup my project folders and just lay week screwed up by overwriting source footage. Fortunately because I had it backed up, I was able to retrieve the file.

When/If you recreate your project, post a screenshot here and we can see if there is any way to cut down the number Sabers.

You should file a bug report with Adobe for this, especially if you can reproduce the behavior.

This may be a lot of Saber as Graham says, but it still shouldn’t cause the project to corrupt.
