Does CatDV require that you use the default Mysql installation?

I’m attempting to migrate CatDV to a Mac Mini Server running mysql installed with homebrew (https://mxcl.github.io/homebrew/) which runs in /usr/local/Cellar/mysql/ but you cannot even run the CatDV server DNG without the textboot default mysql installed.

It can be moved but it’s way easier just to use the default location.

If you’re not using that original install of MySQL, you can just re-install in the default location and things work fine.

On our systems that use Approval-Q, we install a separate instance of MySql to run the AQ database (for separation and security) with no ill effects.

If you need it configured, it’s hard to find a tech who’s fluent in both to make the necessary adjustments, though I believe the server read me might address it somewhere. I say keep it simple unless you absolutely must share that install of SQL.
