Is anyone here running Ppro on osx Catalina?

I just bought a new Mac Pro with Catalina installed and the “send to audition” feature of Ppro is not working. This is true in both Ppro 2019 and the latest Ppro 2020.

This is a major part of my workflow, fixing all sorts of mic pops and background tones in Audition straight from my Ppro timeline and now it doesn’t work. I would roll back to osx Mojave but this is no longer possible with the new Mac Pro, something about the security chip in the hard drive and the “bifurcated” boot drive makes it impossible to start up the system from an external drive that is not Catalina formatted.

So if anyone has had success with Ppro on Catalina or if you are having the same problem, I would love to hear from you.

    Thanks.

I’ve been using 2020 on Catalina on a MacPro (late 2013) with no problem. I send clips from the timeline to Audition all the time. I haven’t done a sequence to a multitrack yet.

I can’t say I’ve used Audition much, but just having a quick look on my 16 inch Catalina laptop it also doesn’t work for me.

It exported a sequence with its media, but didn’t open it in Audition when it did so. I also don’t seem to be able to send a clip to Audition at all, I only have the option of sending a sequence from the project panel.

I know that Adobe broke Dynamic Link engine with the 2020 bug update versions of Premiere and AE 2020, so perhaps it’s related to this, though I did have the base 13.0.0 app installed so maybe it’s something else.

I’m not very familiar with audition though, so I’m assuming it should load up the app when you export a sequence to it.

    Herb:
I am having the same issue. Dynamic linking is working with After Effects but not Audition. Super annoying as it disrupts my usual zippy workflow.

From Matt Stegner in a facebook Premiere Forum…
“The -edit in audition- issue is fixed internally and should be pushed out in the next patch. This is only affecting external or network drives due to Catalina permission issues.”
