  Cat DV and FINAL CUT PRO X ingest and edit workflow

  Hi all,

  We’re updating to Final Cut pro X and I have many doubts on how to manage the new workflow together with CatDV in order to make it easier/shorter for both the editor and the logger.

  In case I decide ingesting through CatDV I would need Calibrated software, isn’t it? But my question is, then, how is this compatible with the new FINAL CUT PRO X event’s folder structure?

  1. I think the only way is to work by ingesting through FCPX with log and transfer so it creates the New Event.

  2. And then, import clips from FCPX event’s folder to a new Cat DV catalogue.

  Any thoughts around??
