    Hey guys,
I’m sure this is a relatively simple question, but I’m just having trouble getting past what seems like a basic AE maneuver. I want to cast a shadow on a photoshopped image I made, and am trying to follow along with the book I bought off half.com but can’t budge it – I know about clicking the boxes to allow the Cast Shadow to work in the Lighting preferences, but it’s just not working.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks so much.

Are both layers 3D? Is there a light in the right place to cast a shadow where you want? Under the layer’s “Material Options” (AA reveals) is the layer receiving the shadow have “Accept Shadows>On”? And the layer casting the shadow have Cast Shadows>On? If so, I dunno.

also, is the shadow color black, and/or, is opengl turned off? i think there is still a problem with opengl rendering shadows if they are any color other than black…
