Hello good people! I have used the search window but the posts are old. Looking for any recommendations for a cartoon effect (not the one included in AE) thats either a plug in or an
Ai tool (retching sound) anything out there knocking your socks off? (paid or unpaid)

I wouldn’t say it knocks my socks off, but Sketchify in Red Giant Universe can get some pretty nice looks. Depending on what you’re going for, it might be perfect paired with Universe Texturize Motion. (There are a ton of tools in Universe, so if you do get it, be sure to have a look at all of them so you can really get your money’s worth. There’s a getting started series that runs through them all on the Maxon learning portal Cineversity.)

I’ve found the best approach to cartoonifying people is to animate a cartoon sketch of them (rather than trying to cartoon a whole video).
There’s AI cartoon generators out there that can take an image and cartoon it (not sure if firefly now offers this). But what you get is a static image. Which if you then use to face tracking on your actors, you can translate their movements onto the cartoon.
That’s the AE solo approach. If you have character animator, it does all that for you.
