Can’t find mention of this in the forums – Whenver I invoke Card Wipe it crashes After Effects 7.0. I booted from a “cleaner” partiton (a stripped down startup drive just for emergencies) and it even crashes 6.5.

Anyone else have this problem? System’s great otherwise:

    G5 DP 1.8
    2.5 gb ram
    OSX 10.4.8

do you have opengl preivews enabled?

check ae>preferences>preview and disable opengl. that may be causing issues, and if you have a g5 with an agp slot, you won’t want to use opengl anyway (the mac agp cards don’t support opengl 2.0 features, so you won’t get things you need like anti-aliasing and motion blur).

even if you have a g5 with pcie slots and an ati x1900 card (i think the only opengl 2.0 for a g5), you may want to disable opengl when you notice problems. many disable it regardless, because opengl can just be tweaky.

Thanks – no I never use openGL. My graphics card is GeForce FX 5200, and I’m pretty sure I’ve used this in the past. Turns out I can put the effect on a color solid, but not on anything else.
